Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. She is the elder sister of fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko, an experienced Muay Thai kickboxer, began her professional fight career during her first IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was victorious in this event with a unanimous victory over Suzane Miller. Antonina was awarded a Silver Medal in 2007 and a Bronze Medal in 2008, and a Golden medal in 2011, the IFMA Amateure Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003. She took home at the world championships for light Welterweight at WKC in in 2012 as well as the Lightweight Lion Fight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's last fight was at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She was able to win with a majority. Antonina Schevchenko set her professional MMA records in 2002, when she fought Anara Bazanova at KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She was victorious in the second round TKO after which she won two more bouts at the WXF X-Impact World Championships to achieve a record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a hiatus to focus on boxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in a unanimously-decided match after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She joined the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following the departure of the league. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's superior strike skills enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the lower body. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win with a unanimous decision. She lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. The bout earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko was a 1-2 winner in her next 3-fights beating Ariane Lipski, and then falling to Katlyn Chookagian, and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
